Indy Parks is committed to helping seniors improve and maintain healthy lifestyles. Our programs encourage recreation and leisure skill development, education and a positive social atmosphere, all of which come together to create a healthy mind and a healthy life.

The Senior Recreation Council (SRC)

The SRC meets on a quarterly basis to aid in the planning and implementation of recreation programs for seniors at Indy Parks. Do you have an idea for a program? We would love to here from you! Seniors Keep It Moving
Exercise, reduce health risks and increase energy levels, while socializing with peers.
Age: 50+

Sassy Senior Aerobics
Get your groove on with Sassy Seniors at Municipal Gardens.
Age: 50+

Seniors on the Move Aerobics
Join us for this free program at Douglass Park. This is a low-to medium impact aerobic class.
Age: 55+

Riverside Senior Aerobics
Stay health and fit, while having loads of fun.
Age: 55+

Senior Chair Aerobics
Join the New Beginnings Seniors for some light exercising.
Age: 50+

Senior Bowling League
We will bowl three games a night at $2 a game, totaling $6 a week. Bowling shoes included.
Age: 50+

AARP and Indy Parks 10-Week Walk Program
Get your walking shoes ready as we partner with IMPD to walk at Washington Park. If you are interested, contact Indy Parks’ seniors coordinator at 327-7418.

2400 Tibbs Ave. Mayor’s Garden Plots
This is your chance to get back in touch with the soil again. Tilling is provided by Indy Parks; you provide the water and plants. Registration and plots open April 20 for previous registrants; April 27 for new customers. The cost is $30 for a 50x50 plot; $15 for a 25 x 25 plot. Seniors receive a 50% discount. Plots are available through the end of October. Users are not allowed to install any permanent structures or trellises.
